RUGBY ONE
Cookies & analytics
You can browse and create an account whether you allow analytics or choose only necessary cookies.
Updated 7 November 2026.
Make or change your choice
Analytics is off until you choose Allow analytics. Only necessary keeps it off. Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time to change your choice. We remember the decision on this browser for six calendar months, then ask again. If browser storage is blocked, the choice may last only for this tab.
Withdrawing stops future analytics collection and removes the Google Analytics cookies this site can clear. If analytics has loaded, the page reloads to remove its listeners. This does not automatically erase information already received by Google. Contact privacy@rugbyone.co.uk about privacy requests.
Sign-in, security and requested features
Clerk provides sign-in and account security. Observed cookies include __session, __client_uat, __clerk_db_jwt and clerk_active_context; some names have an instance-specific suffix. Security services used by our providers also set __cf_bm and _cfuvid. Cookies can differ between signed-out and signed-in visits and between provider domains.
Clerk also uses __clerk_environment in local storage. We disable Clerk’s optional SDK diagnostic telemetry in this website’s integration; older clerk_telemetry_throttler entries may remain until browser data is cleared.
rugby-hub-entry-choice remembers Explore as guest. Legacy rugby-hub-favourite-teams and rugby-hub-favourite-players entries may exist for preference import; following a team or player requires an account. Clubhouse uses a browser-storage signal to refresh results across tabs, and some admin tools use tab-scoped recovery storage. These are separate from audience analytics; rejecting analytics does not clear sign-in, preferences or operational recovery data.
Local-storage entries generally remain until removed by the application or browser. Session storage lasts for the tab’s session. Cookie lifetimes are provider controlled and can change; the observed sign-in cookie had an expiry of up to one year. This is a browser-cookie expiry, not a promise that a login session or account record lasts that long.
Optional Google Analytics
If you allow it, Rugby One uses Google Analytics 4 to measure consenting visitors, sessions, page views, returning visits, broad geography and recognised referral sources. This helps improve the site and prepare aggregate audience reports for potential sponsors. Measured users are estimates of consenting browsers and devices, not an exact count of people.
The integration uses _ga and _ga_G6DMG9127M cookies, configured to expire after approximately six months without extending the expiry on each visit. Event/user-level retention is configured separately in Google Analytics for 14 months with activity reset off; standard aggregate reports have different retention behaviour.
We do not send names, email addresses, account IDs, messages, form contents, search terms, URL queries or fragments. Account, messaging, admin, sign-in, onboarding, contact and unrecognised routes are excluded. Known teams use names from our installed team catalogue. Other individual player/match/story pages are grouped by page type, rather than reporting arbitrary profile URLs or titles.
Google signals, user-provided data collection and ads personalisation are off. We do not add advertising trackers or sell personal information through this integration. Google receives technical data needed to process analytics requests, including IP address and browser information; analytics is not anonymous simply because names are omitted.
Google may process data outside the UK. Its Privacy Policy, Ads Data Processing Terms and applicable transfer terms describe its processing and safeguards. Our operator is Jude James Tiger Foley, personally operating Rugby One. For questions about this processing, email privacy@rugbyone.co.uk.
External links, images and account records
Highlights may request thumbnail images from YouTube’s image servers. Opening an external highlight or news link takes you to that provider, where its own privacy and cookie choices apply. Optional Google Analytics controls do not govern every external service.
Account favourites, predictions, messages and other account records are stored separately on our servers and with service providers. Browser cookie settings do not delete an account or those records. This page describes browser storage and audience analytics; it is not the complete account-data privacy notice.
